Website Privacy Notice

Effective October 6, 2026

This covers the website, not the app

This notice explains what getdeadair.com collects when you browse it. The Dead Air app collects different things for different reasons and has its own policy: App Privacy Policy. Neither document covers the other.

1

What this site collects

1.1 Site analytics

We use Mixpanel to understand how the site is used. It records which pages you view, when you click a link to the App Store or Google Play, and any campaign tags on the link that brought you here (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content, utm_term). It stores a random identifier in your browser's local storage so repeat visits can be recognised as the same browser.

That identifier is not linked to your name, your email, or any Dead Air account.

1.2 Advertising measurement

We use the Meta Pixel so we can tell whether our advertising works. When it is active it reports each page you view on this site to Meta, along with your IP address and browser details, and Meta sets its own cookies in your browser. Meta may connect that activity to your Facebook or Instagram account if you have one, and may use it to measure our ads and to build audiences we can advertise to.

This is advertising, not product analytics, and we describe it plainly because it is the most invasive thing on this site.

1.3 The support form

If you send us a message from the Support page, we receive the name, email address, topic, and message you typed. It is delivered to our support inbox by email through Resend, our email provider, with your address set as the reply-to so we can answer you. We do not use it for marketing.

1.4 Server logs

Our host, Netlify, records ordinary web server logs: IP address, approximate location derived from it, user agent, the page requested, and the time. These exist to serve the site, keep it secure, and diagnose faults.

2

Consent, and what runs before you give it

If you are in the UK or the European Economic Area, neither the analytics nor the advertising pixel loads until you choose. Not merely muted — the code is not placed on the page at all, so nothing is requested from Mixpanel or Meta and no advertising cookie is set. If you decline, it stays that way.

Outside those regions, analytics and the pixel load when the page does and you will not see a banner.

To decide which applies, our host tells us the country your request came from and we store a single cookie, da_region, holding only eu or row. It records no country and no identifier, and it exists so we can honour consent correctly. Your answer is kept in your browser's local storage, not sent to us.

4

What this site does not do

  • There are no accounts on this website. You cannot sign in here, and we hold no profile about you.
  • No payment ever happens on this website. Subscriptions are bought and managed entirely in the store you downloaded the app from, and we never see your card details.
  • The site serves no advertisements. The Meta Pixel measures ads we run elsewhere; it does not show you any.
  • Our fonts are served from our own servers, so loading a page sends nothing to a font provider.
5

Your choices

  • Change your mind. Clearing this site's data in your browser erases your stored answer, and if consent applies to you, we will ask again on your next visit.
  • Block it outright. Browser settings, tracking protection, and content blockers all prevent these scripts from loading. The site works normally without them.
  • Control what Meta does. Your Facebook or Instagram ad preferences govern how Meta uses activity it has collected, including from this site.
  • Ask us. Email us to request a copy of what we hold about your visits, or to ask us to delete it.
6

How long it is kept

Analytics and advertising data are retained according to our providers' own retention settings, which we keep no longer than we need in order to understand traffic and measure advertising. Support messages are kept in our support inbox for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up. Server logs are retained by our host on their standard schedule. If you want a precise period for a specific category, email us and we will tell you.
